Public health is the population's comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being. During the study, public health specialists acquire leadership skills. They can analyze the population's or target groups' health status, assess demographic characteristics, identify major health problems, contribute to disease and injury prevention and safety promotion, control outbreaks, and conduct screenings and vaccination programs. They develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention programs, plan and organize healthy lifestyle activities, and organize preventative activities in health care organizations. They promote overall health and well-being in the population they serve.
Public health specialists are the frontline leaders who organize measures to protect global society in cases of epidemics and other infectious diseases, conduct research on the impact of the environment on public health, and develop recommendations for a healthy lifestyle. |
Graduates will acquire a Bachelors’ degree in health sciences. Graduates will be able to work in health departments of municipality administration, public health offices and bureaus, public health centers, health promotion and health program units, primary health care institutions, territorial health insurance funds, specialized care institutions for health risk groups of the population (addiction centers, mental health centers, centers for child care and disable people), and as public health specialists in educational institutions. |
