Open and Use a Shared Mailbox in Outlook

Using a Shared Mailbox

A shared mailbox allows a group of people to easily monitor and send emails using a common email address, such as info@ku.lt. When replying to a message sent to the shared mailbox, the recipient sees the email as coming from the shared address rather than from an individual user.

Additional Features:

  • In the classic Outlook application, a shared mailbox can also be used as a team calendar, making it easier to plan activities.
  • A shared mailbox can serve as a “no-reply” email account when responses to outgoing messages are not required.

Important to Know:

  • A shared mailbox is not intended for direct sign-in.
  • The shared mailbox account itself should remain disabled, and access should be granted to other users through permissions.
