The awards were presented on 27 January during LINPRA’s New Year event, which brought together the engineering and manufacturing industry community, policymakers, and leaders of the engineering industry sector. The event reviewed the results of the engineering and manufacturing sectors in 2025, identified the main challenges, and discussed future directions.
The LINPRA Honorary Badge is granted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering industry sector, demonstrating innovation and productivity, achieving significant results in the integration of science and business, and actively promoting Lithuania’s engineering industry both nationally and internationally.
Prof. Habil. Dr. Vytautas Paulauskas received the LINPRA Honorary Badge for his exceptional long-term work in education, research, and public service, as well as for his substantial contribution to the development of maritime transport, ports, and green shipping research and its practical application, the integration of science and industry, the shaping of transport policy, and the training of highly qualified engineering professionals in Lithuania.
Prof. Habil. Dr. Sergej Lebedev was awarded the LINPRA Honorary Badge for his significant contribution to engineering and transport research, aligning fundamental and applied R&D solutions with industry needs, and advancing alternative energy technologies. The award also recognises his long-standing academic and teaching activities in educating highly qualified engineering specialists in Lithuania.
“Such awards above all testify to consistent, long-term work and the academic responsibility that professors assume not only in advancing science, but also in educating future engineering leaders. The activities of Professors Vytautas Paulauskas and Sergej Lebedev demonstrate that the University can be an active driver of change - bringing together science, industry, and society to address today’s challenges,” said Klaipėda University Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas.
